Due to the many advantages of submersible pumps themselves and pump stations that use submersible pumps, the demand in China will continue to grow in the future, with the following main development trends.

1. Developing large and medium-sized submersible pumps has outstanding advantages in simplifying pump structures and saving investment in pump station construction. Generally, it can reduce costs by 40% to 60% and shorten construction periods by 1/2 to 2/3. Therefore, it will be increasingly widely used in municipal, industrial and mining, environmental protection, and industrial and agricultural water supply and drainage. It is expected that there will be a significant demand in the future.

2. Developing multifunctional and multi-purpose submersible pumps. Compared with the products of well-known submersible pump manufacturers abroad, there are still not many forms of submersible pumps in China, such as pumps with cutting devices, multi-stage pumps, and submersible pumps for pumping corrosive media. However, their market demand is also large, so they have a good development prospect.

3. Developing high reliability mechanical seals is a key part of submersible electric pumps. Two single end face mechanical seals are used, so that the pressure of the medium can act on the end face and the leakage direction is internal flow. These are all beneficial, but the structure is slightly complex. Install double end face mechanical seals in the oil chamber, and the end faces on both sides should adopt different structural types to allow the pressure of the medium to act on the lower end face. Otherwise, relying solely on spring force, the reverse thrust of the sealing end face can easily open the end face. Therefore, further research should be conducted in terms of structure and materials to improve their reliability and lifespan.

4. New materials, new technologies, new processes, etc. will gradually be applied to ordinary pumps. Stainless steel, fluoroplastics (F46), plastic lining, rubber lining, spray coating ceramics, etc. have been used, and all these materials should be applied to submersible pumps as soon as possible to expand their application areas. The application of new technologies and processes such as computer-aided design, manufacturing, and testing is also imperative. It has been proven that the application of new technologies, materials, and processes not only liberates labor productivity, but also ensures stable and reliable product quality.

5. Pay attention to the appearance quality of submersible pumps and gradually enter the international market. China's submersible pumps have a clear price competitive advantage in the international market, but it is necessary to improve the reliability and service life of electric pumps, especially to improve the appearance quality of submersible pumps, to give users a sense of beauty, so that domestic submersible pumps can enter the international market more quickly.
